In a world where you can be anything, Be kind! That’s a line i think everyone on the internet has seen.
It wasn’t any difficult for me to join charity having been a beneficiary of a group of people’s generosity towards me sometime 4 years ago when i lost my dad and my family was struggling. From then on, I feel it’s always an obligation to give back whenever i can and when the opportunity to join Draw A Smile knocked, I embraced it with open arms.
During our first project in Kisenyi, we interacted with many “hopeless” kids who had easily been convinced there’s a future in doing drugs. You can’t blame them because many of them are abandoned and did not really get the parental upbringing.
Many kids below the age 15 are clearly there because they can’t afford school and easily become addicted.
The second project in Nkumba was a little different as, there, the children were more into family but which families were financially struggling and needed support.
We’re glad to have taken a few kids back to school and sprinkling some seeds of hope to those that barely had a drop of it.
I strongly believe we’re going to inspire and support many children and youth out there so they can realise they harbor much more potential than they really think they possess.
Secretary, Draw A Smile Uganda.
